Suggestions for fire starting with fatwood: It takes about one or two sticks of lighter'd to get a roaring fire going. We have found that if you break a piece of lighter'd in two, the frayed edges catch better and hold a flame longer. Suggestions for fire starting using the Firestarting "Kit" of 40 lbs. kindling and 12 lbs. of giblet fatwood: Begin by using a handful of giblet lighter'd as a base. Then stack 5 or 6 pieces of kindling on top of that. Next, put green split wood on top. Put a match to the lighter'd, and you'll have a roaring fire in no time. Suggestions for fire starting using Firestarter Pinecones: You can start a fire with the waxed, firestarter pinecones just as you would using wood kindling. Simply place a pinecone underneath you firewood and light. They light easily and hold a flame for a long time.
